About Brandvoice

You have a message. You want it to be heard. You need it to go far. Enter Brandvoice.

We occupy a unique space in the marcom world, somewhere between a global ad agency and a design studio.
We amplify brands—by giving them voice and making marketing dollars go further.

The way we work is simple: thorough research, intelligent strategies, clever concepts and hardworking creative.
We find that unique insight, distill it, then bring it to life. We don’t believe in overcomplicating things.

Our keep-it-simple mantra applies to our work as well. Creative that isn’t authentic to your brand and that distracts from your message isn’t our thing. We understand the power of relevance, focus and connection.

We also understand your needs and chances are we’ve been on your side of the desk. It has to be there tomorrow?
We’re on it. Need to switch gears? We get it. Simply put, we’re committed to making you and your brand look good.

John Sparkman

Founder/Principal

A native of Nashville, John became hooked on all things design related during a five-year stay in Japan where he worked importing and exporting books on graphic design and architecture. John founded Brandvoice in 2001 after a seven-year stint with a Japanese ad agency. A self-confessed Wikipedia junkie and serial contributor, John is a fan of the peer-produced, grassroots content model.

A lifelong dog lover, John has had several canine companions over the years—all hounds—proving at least one stereotype involving Tennesseans. John collects band posters and calls a recently-scored silkscreen print by street artist, Shepard Fairey, a prized possession. On weekends, John can be found exploring the NYC/NJ art and indie band scene. Annual artists' studio tours throughout the area are his favorite way to see what’s new and keep a fresh design perspective.

Greg Harrison

Illustrator/Designer

Award-winning illustrator, indie-radio aficionado and powerhouse drummer, Greg has the rare gift of communicating big ideas with the least amount of visual information possible. Listing Saul Bass, Charley Harper and Alexander Calder as his primary influences, Greg has recently completed a poster featuring digital illustrations of all 50 state birds—a hit on Etsy. His favorites are the Eastern Goldfinch and the Common Loon.

Ask Greg what his favorite NYC neighborhood is and he'll tell you, "Jersey City" without a trace of irony, describing it as "the NY Metropolitan area's Island of Misfit Toys." JC just also happens to be the home of listener-supported WFMU, where Greg anchors the corps of volunteers that keeps America’s longest-running freeform radio station on the air.
